OS Xで日本語入力が異常に遅い

ディスクユーティリティ（First Aid）で アクセス権を修復 を行いましたか？
この現象ですが、Discussions > Mac OS X > Mac OS X (10.2) 　から ことえり で検索してみてください。
ことえりの仕様上の不具合で多くの報告と対処方法が投稿されています。

　アクセス権の修復はしていません。野尻さんのHPの「candidateAssist.dictを修復する」でターミナルで確認してみましたが、「drwxr-xr-x」でしたので、これも問題ないかと思っているのですが...。いろいろ調べてみます。早くAppleにも解決してほしい問題です。
　ちなみに機種番号はM7633J/A、ファームウェア(ブートROM)は4.1.8f5です。

参考までに、candidateAssist.dict の中はどうなっていますか？
ls -lR /System/Library/Components/Kotoeri.component/Contents/Support/candidateAssist.dict

candidateAssist.dict/Contents/ の中を知りたいものですから。

OSを使ってきたものですから、いまひとつTerminalとか、コマンドとか理解できてません。スットコドッコイな内容でしたら、手順を教えていただけませんでしょうか（T T）。

1976年4月はアップル社設立、Apple1販売 の年ですね。（笑）
＃おそらくPRAMクリア後の時刻設定がなされていなかった状態でインストールを行ったからと想像します。
いま現在でも、ことえりはレインボーカーソル状態なのですよね？
無駄かもしれませんが、もしよろしければ試していただければと思います。
以下の手順で辞書ファイルを再配置してみてください。
（１）当該ディレクトリへ移動
　　　cd /System/Library/Components/Kotoeri.component/Contents/Support
（２）辞書ファイルを本来の場所にコピー（行末の"."に注意）
　　　sudo cp -p candidateAssist.dict/Contents/dictionary_1 .
（３）オリジナルをリネーム
　　　sudo mv candidateAssist.dict candidateAssist.dict.ORG
（４）コピーしたファイルの名称変更
　　　sudo mv dictionary_1 candidateAssist.dict
それから確認になりますが、上記手順の前後で、
ps axw | grep Kotoeri | grep -v grep
としてことえりのプロセスが動作していることの一応の確認をお願いします。

candidateAssist.dictの不具合の特徴として、変換ウィンドウが出るタイミングで
レインボーカーソルがぐるぐるまわるというのがあります。
＞例えば、「しろいし」とローマ字入力すると、「しろいs」で入力を受付けなくなり、
と、入力途中でダメになることから、candidateAssist.dictは無関係のように思います。
＞OSインストールのユーザー登録の時からこの症状がでてました。
＞HDの初期化やOS Xだけインストール、10.2.3へのアップデート、PRAMクリアや
＞パワーマネージャーのリセットもしてみましたが、改善されませんでした。
症状が出るのはことえりだけで、ほかの動作は特に遅延もなく普通に動くのでしょうか？
気長（３０分くらい？）に待っていればいずれはレインボーカーソルは止まりますか？
メモリ512MBとありますが、256MBが2枚でしょうか？　でしたら、
どちらかを外してみたら症状が改善されるとかありませんか？
初期化、再インストールまで試しているということなので効き目があるかわかりませんが
OS 9のCDから起動して、ドライブ設定から0初期化を行ってみて下さい。
（恐ろしく時間がかかるので、就寝前に行うのがいいと思います）
その後、OS X 10.2を新規インストールし、その直後に症状が出るかどうかを
確認してみて下さい。

遅くなりました。ターミナルの使い方がよく分からないもので、これで合っているか分かりませんが、いまだ改善されてないみたいです。Appleからアナウンスされるまで、OS Xを使わないのが一番の対処方かもしれませんね（笑）。

はじめまして。
　症状はことえりのみです。ほかのソフト等は問題なく使用できます。メモリは256MB2枚です。増設分（プリンストンテクノロジー製）をはずしてみましたが同じでした。
　アドバイスいただいた方法は後日やってみます。

念のため、一旦リブートしてことえりの動作確認をお願いします。
それから、一応、
ls -l /System/Library/Components/Kotoeri.component/Contents/Support
を見せてください。
＃ちゃんと動くのが当然な訳で、どこかがおかしいんですよねぇ。

　それと気がついたのですが、すべての文字変換に時間がかかるわけでないようです。平仮名で3〜4文字ほどで、以前使った文字なら、割と早く変換されます。
　洗濯機よりも簡単なマックには、まだまだなれそうにありません。(笑)

candidateAssist.dict の位置を再配置する以前と同様、変換に若干時間は掛かるものの、うまく変換できるということでよいのでしょうか？
それから後処理ですが、candidateAssist.dict.ORGをそのまま残してもよいですが、
sudo rm -r candidateAssist.dict.ORG
として削除して結構です。
いまの状態でディスクユーティリティ（First Aid）により「ディスクのアクセス権を修復」で引っ掛かることはなくなります。
